Holiday Hoopla
Classroom Activities
We wrapped up our fall unit last week. Some activities included making a leaf wreath, ripping paper to make leaves, and gluing hair and a face onto paper bag scarecrows. This week we talked about December and started introducing December holidays. We put stickers on green wreaths and ripped paper to make poinsettias. During P.E., we threw beanbags into buckets, practiced kicking balls, and played freeze dance. With our friends from Room 4, we talked about the functions of various objects, played letter bingo and Zingo, read color books, listened to Barefoot Books (like Walking in the Jungle), played Stop/Go, took turns with a car ramp, and played in our mailman dramatic play area! During our rainy days, we did indoor obstacle courses in the classrooms.
Class Split ~ Welcome Ms. Renae!
We are so lucky to have Ms. Renae back as our third preschool teacher! Some of our older friends will be transitioning to her Tiger class and classroom over the next couple of weeks. We will miss them but fortunately we will still get to do P.E., snack, lunch, and fun play times together!
December Fun
- Box City: We are planning a fun couple days of building with boxes (with all 3 classes) the week before break. If you have any extra boxes of any size that you could save and send in on Monday, December 17 (I'll send a reminder email later), that would be awesome!
- Pajama Day: Thursday, December 20
- December break: NO SCHOOL Dec 24-Jan 4; we will be back on January 7!
Staff
I've been getting some questions from parents about what staff we have in our classrooms! Things have been constantly changing around here, as it always does with preschool, but currently we have the following:
- Ms. Katherine's class with IAs Ms. Ashley , Ms. Veronica, Ms. Pegi, and Ms. Jan
- Ms. Renae's class with IAs Ms. Nikki and Ms. Syndi
- Speech = Ms. Diana (SLP), Ms. Michelle (SLP), Ms. Amber (IA)
- OT = Ms. Kelli (OT), Ms. Jennifer (COTA)
- APE = Ms. Kara
