The True Test
Spring Break
I know that in the last couple of weeks I have made a lot of changes to procedures and we have had a lot of discussion about instructional expectations. In an effort to clarify all of these expectations I have created a document titled "Clarifying Instructional Expectations for Taylor Elementary" and will be sharing it with you today. This is a guide of all the things we have been discussing lately and the things we expect to see when visiting your classrooms.
We have created a sense of urgency in the last few weeks and we must continue to see this intentional urgency in instruction every minute of every day. When you did the time protocol activity during staff meeting what did you learn? Reflect back on that time and make sure you are using every minute wisely, our kids deserve it. The true test of this will be this week. The week before Spring Break is generally a week where some educators slip into cruise control and fill the minutes with activities to keep the kids busy and not push and challenge them. There is no cruise control at Taylor Elementary, keep your foot on the gas and keep your lessons and activities meaningful, purposeful, and rigorous. Kids deserve it!
