TRASH BASH THIS WEEKEND
The ICCS Trash Bash will take place THIS Saturday, October 12, from 8 a.m. to 12 Noon in the Wilson Street parking lot. Items being collected include: cardboard, paper and #1 and #2 plastics ONLY. The ICCS homeroom with the most participation will earn a free pizza lunch! For more information, please contact Mr. Michael Higgins at mhiggins@iccschool.org.
LAST CALL FOR ICCS SCHOOL DIRECTORIES
Please access the link below to order a 2019-2020 ICCS School Directory. This annual fundraiser benefits the ICCS 8th Grade Class. The ordering deadline has been extended! Please complete the form TODAY! Cost per directory is $6 each. Payment for directories will be submitted through a FACTS draft. For more information, please contact Margaret Obluda by email at mmobluda@suddenlink.net.
Here is a Top 10 list of reasons why the ICCS School Directory is useful.
- The directory helps your family stay connected to other students and parents in our school community.
- The directory lists the names of the students in your child's class.
- The directory puts names with faces to help remember the parents, teachers and children at school.
- The directory helps answer the age-old question, “Which class is my child in, 8A or 8B?”
- The directory allows your child to reach out to a classmate when he or she needs help with something, like a forgotten text book.
- The directory connects you with other parents when you need help, perhaps with carpooling.
- The directory is helpful when creating a birthday party guest list, or when making a teacher Christmas list.
- The directory captures parent contact information changes from last year (new addresses, phone numbers and email addresses).
- The directory raises funds for the 8th grade class to help celebrate their last year at our great school!

SAVE THE SEA TURTLES
Our 1st Grade students have completed a PBL science unit focusing on animal defenses. The endangered sea turtle was studied. The students have decided to collect donations for the Sea Turtle Conservancy the week of October 21 as their service project this year. Through sea turtle research, conservation and advocacy, the Sea Turtle Conservancy is addressing the threats to sea turtles and the natural habitats upon which they depend.
Mrs. Koenig and Ms. Wilson's students created posters to display around the school to help promote this special fundraiser. More details to come in next week's issue of the Panther Press.
