KEEPING OUR STUDENTS SAFE

Safety is a top priority at Jackson Elementary. In order to ensure all of our staff and students are safe, please be aware of the following safety measures in place.

Volunteer Background Checks

Please note any volunteers that work with our students during the school day, must submit a background check.

Safety Screening for Visitors

During the school day, if a visitor would like to go beyond our school office, they will be put through the MPSD's Raptor System. To do this, the adult will need to provide their driver's license to our office assistant Mrs. Van Laarhoven or our secretary Mrs. Fischer.

Morning Drop Off

We have staff serving as playground supervisors at the start of the day. Our supervisors are on the playground starting at 8:25 am. Please avoid having your student arrive to school prior to 8:25 am, doing so ensures there is adult supervision.

Safety Drill Coming Up

A friendly reminder that coming up next week, our staff and students will be practicing the LOCKDOWN SRP response. This SRP response is used when their is some kind of threat in the building. Below you will see what is expected of our staff and students during a LOCKDOWN.

Thank you for your partnership in keeping our students and staff safe. If you have any questions, please give Mrs. Beatty a call, 920-663-9522.

Big picture

Next Week! Don't Miss Out on the Fun!

Fall Fun Activities: Oct. 28th

Costume Parade

The parade will begin at 3:15pm. Students who wish to participate will wear costumes (school appropriate) and parade through the hallways and outdoors along N. 18th Street. Families who wish to watch the parade may view it along Menasha Ave. & N. 18th St. The parade will end at the gym entrance. Teachers will be sharing additional details regarding costumes.

Trunk or Treat Event

This year our Trunk or Treat event will run from 4-6pm.

4:00-5:00pm

Activities in the Gym

  • Bring in your decorated pumpkin for the contest! Families will get to vote for their favorite decorated pumpkin. Gift cards will be awarded to the top 3 winners of the pumpkin decorating contest.
  • Enjoy a snack.
  • Play a game of pumpkin bowling.
  • Check out the book fair in the purposeful playroom.

5:00pm-6:00pm

Trunk or Treating in the Staff Parking Lot

Families will head outdoors to go trick or treating around to the decorated vehicles. Families who are decorating their vehicles' trunk for the event can set up in the staff parking lot between 4-5pm. If we need additional room, we will park vehicles on the playground.

PTO: Get Involved

The Jackson PTO would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our Jackson families. We would love to see you get involved with the PTO. This is a great way to connect with other families and support the Jackson community.

PTO Meetings:

There is a monthly meeting held currently in the computer lab. During these meetings we discuss upcoming events, make decisions as a group, and discuss ways we can help support Jackson staff and students.

We have noticed a decline in parent involvement and are seeking input from you regarding PTO meetings and events. Please take a moment to complete the linked survey below. Thank you and we are excited to be working with all of you to best support our learning community.

4K Registration for 23-24!
