Though I know this is a long shot, my hope for words drowns out my fear of him saying no.
This shows us how only Cassia is feeling, and demonstrates how she refers to herself by using the word I.
Figurative Language
Personification: "In my dream I soar above others and slowly the words begin to rise with me, my words, our words"
Imagery: "Flaky, warm, and fruit filled, I lift a forkful of pastry to my mouth.
Characterization
Example 2: Xander says "I can see in her eyes you want to explore" which once again is a example of her curiousity.
Example 3: She has a average appearance and doesn't care about how she looks.
Theme
Evidence: In the story Cassia has all of these memories and symbols to correspond with the memory. When she finds some people want to take these objects away she at first doesn't want to. She then realizes that taking away the objects doesn't mean taking away the strength of the memory.
Evidence 2: Cassia knows no matter what Society does to her and Ky they can't take away the love that they share.
Dialouge

"You have caused a great disappointment today," he glares, "now your father will never be able to return."
"I know." My Papa states, staring at the tiling of the flooring.
