Need a Retake:
If you wish to have a picture retake done, please return you original picture package in its entirety on picture day. To ensure any issues with your picture package are corrected please include a note with what you did not like about the original picture and what you would like done differently with the retake.
Missed Original Picture Day:
Any students who have not had their picture taken should plan to have their picture done at retakes. If you would like to pre-order pictures you can do so by using the link below.
Pinecrest Picture Retake Dates:
Thursday, November 5th (Cohort 2 students)
To ensure a clean and safe picture day environment, Cahill Studios is strongly encouraging online ordering for all photos this year. Paper forms will not be sent to students. If you need to order via a paper form, you can request one from your school's office.

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER
Cold weather is here! Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for playing outside. Students spend twenty minutes outside for recess. Appropriate clothing includes hats, mittens/gloves, winter jacket, snow pants, and snow boots.
DON'T WAIT UNTIL WINTER...PREPARE FOR A "SNOW DAY”
It is important that you have accurate phone numbers on file for your student with the school district. Although we are using a calling system to contact families in case of inclement weather, the district will still continue to post school delays or closings in the following ways:
Official school closing announcements will be made on Hastings KDWA Radio 1460, WCCO-Channel 4, KSTP-Channel 5, KMSP-Channel 9 and KARE-Channel 11 television and Hastings Public School Website.
Click HERE for instructions on how to update contact information in Infinite Campus Parent Portal
THERE'S STILL TIME TO OPT-IN TO DISTRICT TEXT MESSAGING!
Several weeks ago, Hastings Public Schools began allowing parents to opt-in to receiving text messages from the school district, using our Infinite Campus School Messenger parent notification system. Current laws require the District to ask for consent prior to using an automatic service to send text messages to quickly notify parents and guardians. So parents must opt-in by enabling the Text (SMS) boxes in your Campus Portal Account.
When you enable this function in your account, you are consenting to receive text message alerts to the phone number(s) you have identified and are responsible for all related charges. You may opt out of this service at any time by simply un-checking the Text (SMS) box in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you need help opting in please click on one of the links below and you will find directions to the text message Opt-In and Campus Portal Help. The links will take your directly to the page you need.
BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Just a reminder that if your child is having a birthday party and would like to invite their friends from school, we are not able to give out names, phone numbers or addresses of the students. While we know it is exciting for children to have a birthday party and invite their school friends, we ask that you do not send invitations to school as it can cause hurt feelings for those students who did not get invited to the party.
TREATS AT SCHOOL
The district has adopted a wellness policy. We are still celebrating student birthdays; we are just not doing so with birthday treats. We ask that students not bring any treats in honor of their birthday.
MESSAGE FROM THE NURSE
Please continue to monitor your child every morning for symptoms of COVID-19 that could indicate that they are not well. If your child has any COVID-19 symptoms or they have been exposed to a person with COVID-19, please keep them home and call the attendance line. Symptoms of COVID-19*
● Fever or chills (T = 100.4 or higher)
● Cough
● Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

We learn more about COVID-19 every day, and as more information becomes available, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) will continue to update and share information with us. As our knowledge and understanding of COVID-19 evolves, this guidance may change.
During the school day if your child develops illness symptoms we, the school, will notify you and help you and your family take needed actions. Students who develop illness symptoms during the school day will be sent home.
