Poor Richard's Almanack
Benjamin Franklin started publishing Poor Richard's Almanack. Almanacs were printed yearly, and had things like weather reports, recipes, and predictions. Many of the famous phrases associated with Franklin, such as, "A penny saved is a penny earned" come from Poor Richard.
-Ben Franklin also shared some ideas with Thomas Jefferson in writing the Declaration of Independence and was a part of signing it.
The Library
Books were very expensive and not many people could afford to buy them. So, Benjamin Franklin started the first library in the United States so that people could have books to read.
The Fire Station
Fires are very dangerous and were a huge threat to Philadelphia, so Benjamin Franklin wanted to provide safety. He organized Philadelphia's Union Fire Company, which was the first fire station ever.
