ASU Interns
Math, Science, and Social Studies
Decimals-We will also continue on with our decimal module. This week we will model decimals using area models, represent mixed numbers in area models, and decompose 1 whole into hundredths.
Great math websites students can work on at home:
www.zearn.org (students know their login information and it's a class favorite)
www.frontrowed.com (Curtright: yq2jji and Foster: nacfwn)
www.sumdog.com (most students remember their logins from last year, but they can make their own account free of charge)
Students will be able to access Zearn and Front Row throughout the summer with their current logins. This will be great practice to keep up math skills through summer break.
March Madness-We had a great time creating our brackets before Spring Break. The NCAA tournament is down to the final four teams: South Carolina, Gonzaga, Oregon, and North Carolina.
The top 5 brackets created in Mrs. Curtright's room are: 1. Sebastian 2. Maxton
3. Bailey 4. Colton 5. Wyatt. Great Job!!!
Reading, Writing, Vocab and Word Study
Grammar--We will be focusing on figurative language this week during our grammar time. We will specifically look at similes and hyperbole this week.
Reading--We will focus on theme vs. main idea this week. We will be determining theme of picture books and short stories.
Writing--In Writing, we will start our week reviewing our Spring Break through "instagram" writing. Then, we will be examining the parts of a Writing Prompt as we gear up for several quick writes over the next few weeks.
