Newsletter Privacy Settings
What is newsletter privacy?
Newsletter Privacy gives you control of who views your newsletter. You can choose between:
Private - Your newsletter will not be publicly listed, featured on Smore, or available on search engines.
Public - Your newsletter is public and also could potentially appear in search engines.
How to view and edit your Privacy Settings
- Finish editing your newsletter and click "Publish changes"
- Click on the small gray wheel icon above the view count
- Pick a privacy level and click "Save newsletter settings"
Private VS Public
Private means:
- Your newsletter won't be indexed in search engines
- Your newsletter can't be Featured on Smore
- Your newsletter won't show up in your Smore Profile
In order for someone to access your newsletter, you must share the newsletter's URL address with them directly or share it through email or social media.
Keep in mind that if you mark your newsletter as private, but share the URL, it means that anyone with the URL can access it and it will affect your view count.
Public Newsletters
Public allows your newsletter to be listed publicly, which means:
- Your newsletter is indexed in search engines
- Your newsletter can be Featured
- Your newsletter will show up in your Smore Profile
Anyone can access your newsletter whether you decide to share the newsletter's URL address directly with them or not.
