AT THE TABLE WITH DR. KING

Last year, Central Catholic was honored to engage with a multifaceted, live performance by At the Table with Dr. King. The mission is to teach students about the American Civil Rights movement through the use of music, poetry, historical video footage and Dr. King's own words. At the Table with Dr. King aims to challenge students and engage in creative acts of service and leadership. At the Table with Dr. King will be providing our community a virtual performance for this year's CSOM conference.

PUSHOUT: THE CRIMINALIZATION OF BLACK GIRLS IN SCHOOLS

In 2015, author Monique W. Morris published the book Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools. Her book chronicles the experiences of Black girls across the United States. They are highly judged - by teachers, administrators, and the justice system. It exposes a world of confined potential and supports the rising movement to challenge policies, practices and cultural illiteracy that push countless students out of school and into unhealthy, unstable, and often unsafe futures. A documentary under the same name was released in 2019 and is a feature-length film by Monique W. Morris and Women in the Room Productions. WE are proud to host a screening of the documentary, followed by a panel of Central Catholic community members. For more information about the film, visit http://www.pushoutfilm.com

THE RAMILY THANKS YOU!!

We believe that students who come to Central Catholic grow in faith, spirituality, service and character and this year's Week of Giving was one for the record books. Central Catholic students, alumni, community and future Rams showed up in a major way and we couldn't be more thankful. We were especially excited to hand out CC shirts to Brady, Lucien, Ryan and Gordon in thanks for their support.
