Principal Post

It was great to see so many smiling faces at yesterday's student material pick up between 2-6pm. Wednesday was a historic day for DuJardin School, it was the first time that students received a fully implemented standards based report card for all subjects and at all grades, K-5. Standards based grading and reporting at the elementary level in D13 has been a labor of love since the summer of 2016.

If you have any questions regarding your child's current report card please either contact your child's teacher or Mr. Dwyer ( at 630-894-9200. If you need to pick up your child's report card, stop by the school office between 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday.

We are hoping to get students back in the building after winter break starting on January 4th. We will follow the same A/B/remote schedule that we did prior to November 13th before going fully remote. District #13 Superintendent, Dr. Bartelt, is holding several focus groups to discuss the return of students. The first focus group meeting is scheduled to meet this evening with two more meetings next week.

Focus groups will discuss the following topics.

  • Adding an additional day of in person learning for students;
  • Figuring out alternatives to delivering instruction at the middle school;
  • Thinking of useful interventions that can help students and families with academic recovery;
  • Compiling a useful list of resources for social emotional support of students, families and staff
The first meeting is tonight from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The other focus group opportunities are scheduled for next Tuesday, December 8 and next Wednesday, December 9 between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. It is not required to come to each focus group, but you certainly can do this if you choose. There is a 100 person limit to the meeting room.

The link to the focus group for tonight can be found HERE.

It is not safe to walk between cars and in front of oncoming traffic

For the safety of our parents and students, we ask that you do not park your car and walk your child through the parking lot to the door. It is not safe. There are two lanes of traffic; one that stops to drop/pick up students and the other a passing lane. It is hard to see parents and students walking between cars when someone is driving in the passing lane. We ask that you stay in your car and use the drop off line. And as always pull all the way up to the DuJardin sign on Euclid.

Box Tops for Education

Even though we are not physically collecting Box Tops for Education this year, you can still collect them and submit them digitally. Please do not send any Box Tops to school this year.

This is very easy to do. Buy a product, scan your receipt, earn cash for your school.
