Symptoms
Some symptoms of skin cancer are..
- waxy bumps
- flat lesions
- small patches of swelling, red skin
- crusty or scaly skin
- dark spots
- moles
Treatment
Some treatment options include freezing off the infected area of skin, cutting out the patch of cancer (Excisional Surgery), laser therapy, removing thin layers of skin until there are no more abnormal cells (Mohs Surgery), Radiation, and Chemotherapy.
Some Types of Skin Cancer are..
Melanoma
Melanoma is usually a cancer infected mole.
Basal Cell Carcinoma
A cancer that is prone to areas that are usually exposed to the sun.
Squamous Cell Carcinoma
This type of cancer is typically found on or around the ears or mouth.
Prevention
Some types of prevention include..
- staying in shaded areas
- wear clothing to protect exposed skin
- wear sunscreen
- wear hats when outdoors
- avoid indoor tanning
Test for Diagnosis
The most common way people get tested for skin cancer is through biopsies.
