The Howler
Harrington Elementary - September 7th, 2017
Welcome to Harrington, Mrs. Bender & Ms. Schwartz!
Ms. Schwartz is a recent TCU graduate. She started this year at Saigling Elementary and we are overjoyed to welcome her to our great staff at Harrington!
We are looking forward to a great year in Kindergarten and Second grade!!
Class Party Funds
Parents, even if you don’t join PTA the class party funds still need to get paid. It is $10 per student and covers the three parties during the school year: Winter Party, Friendship Party (Valentine’s), and End of the Year. Please visit: www.harringtonpta.net to pay the class party money for each of your children.
These parties are among the favorite days students remember. Grade level coordinators who plan and prepare for the parties may spend only the money given by the parents in that grade. You will not be asked to bring any food or supplies as this $10 covers everything. Please help your student have wonderful parties this year! Thank you!
MP Kids
Mission Possible Kids (MPK) is an After Class Education (A.C.E.) Program, that involves “agents” completing TOP SECRET missions like making gifts for kids in hospitals, providing supplies to kids in orphanages and refugee centers, feeding the hungry, helping animal shelters, and so much more!
Register your student today! www.harringtonpta.net

PTA ROCKS!
Please join the Harrington PTA. This is your best opportunity to support our school! This year, the PTA board created new WISH TREES near every grade level entry. Teachers will post their wish items on the leaves of the tree. You can simply peel off the wish and return it with the item requested. These are small requests such as AAA batteries, scoop rockers for alternative seating, and healthy snacks. We always appreciate your support.
Please use the PTA website link (membership toolkit) to volunteer for field trips, class parties, library helper, etc. https://harringtonpta.membershiptoolkit.com/home

Harrington's Culture Night is a FREE Family Event that allows Husky families to attend and learn about other cultures, traditions, food, languages, crafts, music, dance, clothing, and much more!
HOST YOUR OWN COUNTRY'S TABLE!
We would love for you to join us at the Culture Night exhibit and represent your country! You will have your own table where you'll be able to display anything you would like to share about your country with the Harrington Community. Come in traditional dress or anything that represents your heritage. Email us here today at harringtonculturenight@gmail.com so we can ensure your country's flag in advance for this amazing event!
Would you like to share a heritage talent with the visitors? We hosted a Chinese Opera troupe and dancers at recent culture fairs. Singing, dancing and making crafts would all be considered as options to showcase for our visitors.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT CULTURE NIGHT?
- There will be tables representing countries from around the world.
- Students will have the opportunity to learn more about those countries and cultures. Each student will also have a "passport" that will get stamped each time they visit a different country's table.
- You will get to taste food from around the world!
- A Parade of Nations will be presented by the students along with a special evening presentation
It’s going to be a great event and we hope to see you all there!
