A Weekly Newsletter Brought To You By Heritage Elementary

WORDS FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
We hope you were all able to attend your children’s parent/teacher/student conferences this week. We are very grateful for technology such as Zoom that allows us to stay connected and physically distanced for health and safety. Our teachers worked hard to make the conferences run smoothly and we sure appreciate your attendance in them.
Please be aware that fall break is Thursday and Friday of next week. School on Monday through Wednesday will be full days.
Did you see that our marquee has been repaired? We are thrilled to have this information source up and running again.
We have had extra masks to give to students who forget to bring their own from home, but sadly, our mask supply is close to being gone. Please make sure your children have their masks when getting ready for and arriving at school. Students should also remember to have their computer or iPad with them if they are using them at home and at school. We have enough devices for our students to use, but not enough for each student to have two.
Thank you for your help and support. We love our Heritage community!
WASATCH SAVINGS FUNDRAISER
REMEMBER:
- Only one sample book has been sent home per family instead of per student.
- All siblings can still participate in selling the books.
- Books and prizes will be handed out when your child is completely done selling instead of on an ongoing basis like in years past. When your student(s) is done selling, have them return their order form for their prizes and additional books.
- People who purchase the book will have access to all the deals/offers throughout the entire Wasatch Front, not just Davis county.
- The offers/deals are valid for one full year from the time the card is activated through the phone app.
VISION SCREENING
Dear Parents/Guardians,
In previous years, Davis School District has provided a vision screening to all students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th grades. Due to health concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic, mass vision screenings that are usually completed in the fall, will not be done at this time. We will re-evaluate the potential risk to our students and staff as the year proceeds and may schedule screenings later when we determine it is safe to do so.
In the meantime, if you have any concerns about your child’s vision, please take them to an eye care professional for a thorough examination. We strongly believe that vision issues should not hinder the academic growth of any student in our district. If you require financial assistance in obtaining an appointment with an eye care professional, please contact your school nurse. Our Health & Nursing Services Department has a program in place to offer financial help to all students in need.
Sincerely,
Health & Nursing Services Department
Davis School District
