Badger Family Update

January, 2021

Dear Families,

As we prepare to welcome our Badger Bulldogs back to school for in-person instruction, I want to thank you for everything you have done to support your child's learning this year so far.

Please read this newsletter carefully to learn about new arrival and dismissal procedures at Badger. To mitigate the spread of COVID 19, we are asking families to use the drop-off and pick-up line in the parking lot, rather than parking and coming into school. To keep traffic flowing through the morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up line, I am asking parents to turn right into our parking lot on Spencer and to turn right out of our parking lot, going south on Bluemound, instead of turning left and holding up traffic behind you. Going 1 minute out of your way will allow all parents picking their kids up to get through the pick-up line that much sooner. Our School Resource Police Officer from the Grand Chute Police Department will be at Badger to help all of our families master these new drop-off and pick-up procedures.

I am looking forward to getting to know you in person this year and working with your children to be the best Badger Bulldogs they can be!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gonzalez

MORNING DROP-OFF PROCEDURE

Please drop your child off at Badger between 8:10 and 8:27. Students may not be dropped off before 8:10. The drop-off zone will be on the east side of the building, toward the end of the parking lot, and will include 4 "unloading spots" marked by traffic cones.

Vehicles are to stay in one lane-- no parking, please.

  • Please do not let your child exit the vehicle until you are in the drop-off zone and a Badger staff member opens their car door.
  • Regardless of where you are heading, please turn right out of the parking lot. Turning left out of the parking lot will not be permitted.

Let's work together to make drop-off safe, efficient, and positive for all of our families.

AFTERNOON PICK-UP PROCEDURE

Badger dismisses at 3:20. If you are picking up your child, you must use the pick-up line. Children will be lined up by grade level and sent to the "loading zone," indicated by 4 traffic cones, when their parent arrives. For everyone's safety, please remain in your vehicle in the pick-up line, which is one lane.

  • Parents can no longer park and enter the school to wait for their child.
  • Regardless of where you are heading, please turn right out of the parking lot.
  • Turning left out of the parking lot will not be permitted.

Let's work together to make drop-off safe, efficient, and positive for all of our families.

Big picture

What's happening at Badger?

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR CHILD IS SICK

While in the past we may have powered through common colds and allergies, this year we need to work together to stop the spread of COVID-19 in our schools. Please do not send your child to school if they have any of the symptoms listed on the student screening and illness guide.

School Supply Update:

We look forward to seeing all of our students back on January 19th. Please don't forget school supplies! At our lesson material exchange on Thursday, January 14, your child should come with:

  • the book boxes, that were sent home on the first day of school
  • math manipulatives and materials that were sent home, e.g. dice, cards, etc.
  • letter boards (primary students only)
  • music and art kits

You may also send your school supplies, if doing so is more convenient. The supply list is attached here for your convenience.
