Levelland FFA has been busy.

The Levelland FFA had four students compete at the area level in the month of November. Adaline Utley placed 6th in Senior Creed Speaking. Leo Bordayo, Caden Beatty, and Kennedy Newsom placed 9th in Farm Skills.

The floral design class is also selling Christmas wreaths to help fund more classroom activities and projects! Anyone interested can contact them through the Levelland FFA Facebook page or email Mrs. Crilly at ccrilly@esc17.net

The Levelland FFA also had students serve veterans and their families at the Veterans Day breakfast at South Plains College. Students included Brooke Lamb, Kali Copeland, Adaline Utley, Hunter Gibbs, Caden Beatty, Leo Bordayo, and not pictured Holden Basquez and Kelton Roberts.

Mrs. Satterwhite's Pre-Ap ENG II classes recently completed a big project.

Pre-AP English II classes participated in a Reluctant Hero project the last few weeks. The students were divided into groups. Each group chose a protagonist from one of the stories we have read so far this year. Each protagonist was a “reluctant hero” in his/her respective story. The groups had to imagine that their protagonist was running as a presidential nominee (in current time USA). Each group completed a character analysis, examining their character’s strengths and weaknesses and comparing their character to the other protagonists. The groups also had to research current political issues and determine what position their character would take on the issues (based on their character’s personality & actions in their story). Finally, they groups designed a campaign slogan & poster and wrote a campaign speech for their protagonist. On the appointed day, each of the protagonists delivered their campaign speech (in character—complete with costumes) in front of the class and a panel of judges. Judges & class members voted on the presidential nominee. Pictured below are just a few examples.
