Week of June 17, 2019
Readers' Workshop~
- We read and discussed Miss Rumphius. We learned that we should all spread beauty in the world. Miss Rumphius left her mark of beauty by spreading lupine seeds all over the land...near and for from where she lived. Inspired by the book, we painted lupines.
- Reading groups completed their Partner-Read series books. then, we celebrated with a Book Club-Popcorn eating book share.
- Also as a class, , we read and discussed Horrible Harry Bugs the Three Bears. We completed chapter comprehension questions.
- We read and discussed The Important Book as well as I Wish You More ~ two of my all time favorite books.
Writers' Workshop~
- We wrote lots of End-Of-The-Year journal entries in our Second Grade Scrapbooks.
- We wrote about Field Day as well as our Second Grade highlights
Mathematicians~
- We completed a Flag Day Craft in which we calculated the amount of years in between historical events as well as the difference in monument heights.
- We played Math games of choice
Science~
- As Botanists, we made one final observation of our Brassica plants. We labeled the important plant parts ~ root, stem, leaf, flower, and seedpods.
Social Studies~
- We had our final Destination Project presenters show us their projects...be sure to check out the photos below.
Other Activities~
- We decorated our Field Day T-Shirts
- We met with our 4L Buddies one last time
- We had an Amazing Field Day!!

Helloooooo Haddonfield! Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a teacher be the star student? Well Mrs. Murphy was the star! On Monday she shared her poster on Tuesday she shared her favorite book called The Important Book on Wednesday she brought in her worry stone on Thursday her favorite song was Holiday By:Modena and sadly for Mrs.Murphy's special guest was supposed to be Franchesca but her mom said she has to rest for her recital.
