Message from the Principal:
I cannot believe that today marks the end of Week 3 of remote learning!
As a parent of a four and seven year old, I understand just how trying this time can be. I have made a makeshift office in my spare room, but can only keep them out in 45ish minute chunks. In addition, I am a trained educator, and have my seven year old telling me "that's not how my teacher told me to do it." I know that these conditions are not ideal for education in the traditional sense.
I want to encourage you to keep doing the best you can. Some days are going to be better than others, and we understand that. As parents and teachers, we can unite with a desire to love our kids and encourage them to be a little better daily.
I also know that there are insecurities regarding your student possibly "falling behind" or concern about your student missing an entire quarter of traditional schooling and being promoted to the next grade level. Please know that we are ALL in this together, and we will look at ways to support next year. I don't know what that looks like yet, but every student will be in a similar situation. I am confident that our determined and passionate staff will adjust and adapt to ensure our students get what they need to succeed at the next level.
In conclusion, I am supremely confident that we will be able to get through all of this together, as a Settler's Point community. Our staff is learning many new things, utilizing new forms of technology, and their dedication to helping students has never been more visible to me. While we miss you all dearly, please know that we are and continue to be here to support you and your children.

Personal Belongings...
In the coming weeks, teachers will be going into their classrooms (while observing social distancing procedures) and packing up student belongings. If there is something specific that you want please communicate with your child's classroom teacher. In addition, if you are not concerned about picking up what was in your student's desk and would like to donate it to the teacher, please let your child's homeroom teacher know.
We are still finalizing a procedure for parents to come pick up items during the week of May 11. Please continue to check email/social media for more information.
Elementary Summer School...
A decision will be made in mid-May whether or not to continue with the June program. If you register now to "save your seat" a full refund will be provided should it be cancelled.
See the flyer below for more information.
Teacher Requests for 2020/2021....
Please know that there are many considerations that are taken into account when placing a child with a teacher. While your input will always be considered, it's not a guarantee that your child will be placed there.
Placement for the 20/21 school year will begin in May, so to be considered, these will need to be submitted by April 30.

Message from the PTSO:
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK is coming up the first week of May!! In an effort to comply with all social distancing measures, PTSO will be arranging drop-off for any gifts or homemade tokens you’d like to give to our teachers or staff members!
We understand in these unsettling times that not everyone can make it to the stores, so please encourage your kiddos to draw pictures, pick flowers, write a poem, make something creative, and just have fun with it! Anything to show appreciation to our dear teachers and staff whom we love so much and are working so hard to keep our education system going right now!!
If you need some inspiration, you can reach out to your room moms for a list of your Teachers “Favorite Things”
