Weekly Updates from Big Walnut High School
Week of October 11, 2021
Hello Big Walnut Families! We hope you enjoyed your weekend and are ready for an exciting week ahead. The end of our first grading period will be THIS Wednesday, October 13. And a reminder that there is no school on Friday, October 15, as a conference compensation day for our teachers.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teachers, school counselor or the administration if you have any questions or concerns. Feel free to contact the main office at 740-965-3766 between the hours of 7:00 and 3:15.
Reminder for Students Who Ride a Bus
Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,
During the month of September, we experienced several issues involving vandalism of restrooms in connection with a national TikTok challenge. We want to make families aware that it appears that this TikTok challenge is meant to continue with a new theme each month. Among the themes promoted for October is “smack a staff member.” Additional themes for coming months include but are not limited to: “trash the hallways”, “jab a female”, “grab privates of boys” and “destroy school signs”.
We ask that parents and guardians speak to their students about this trend and help us ensure that this type of behavior does not continue in Big Walnut Schools. Anyone who chooses to participate in these challenges has and will face serious consequences - including school-level disciplinary action and possible criminal charges.
Thank you for your support and partnership in helping Inspire and Guide our students.
