Raider PRIDE Tailgate Party
Second, in conjunction with our Raider PRIDE initiative this year, the first ever Raider PRIDE Tailgate Party was held on Friday, October 12. Students who had met the goals of Raider P.R.I.D.E. for the first quarter of the school year were treated to a cookout, outdoor activities, and various other activities during the lunch periods.
A very special THANK YOU goes to all of the SMS teachers who helped to make this day possible for these students. And a big CONGRATULATIONS to those students who were participants due to their hard work and efforts during the first quarter. Below are just a few of the many pictures taken that day.

Free Healthy Tailgate Event
The Free Healthy Tailgate Event was held on the south lawn of the football field. It was an effort to raise more awareness of our Upgrade wellness efforts and involve the communtiy. Raider and Patriot fans were given the opportunity to sample healthy food options, gather recipes, and learn more about local nonprofits and businesses who also carry the mission of promoting better healthier lifestyles.
Mrs. Shannon Fuhs, the Upgrade grant coordinator for Southridge Middle School, provided the pictures below to show just what types of food were available and to show some of the participants. Thanks, Mrs. Fuhs!!
