The Ludwig Ledger
March 2020
Happy Spring!
It has been quite busy at Ludwig this past month. February brought us our Kids Heart Challenge, Family Literacy Night, Book Fair, Physics Day for 5th grade, the 5th-grade musical, and an outstanding author/illustrator visit!
Thank you to all of the families that supported our students raising funds for our Kids Heart Challenge. I am happy to report that Ludwig collected and donated $1632.22 to the American Heart Association.

Looking at the month of March...
Report cards will be coming home on Friday, March 6th. Please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher if you have any questions or concerns.
Our 4th graders will have an "in house" field trip either March 11th or 12th called "Whoose Bones." The Forest Preserve District of Will County will be coming to Ludwig to have our students dissect and reconstruct findings in owl pellets. This experience helps our students learn about food chains and predator/prey relationships.
Our fifth-graders will be taking the ISA (Illinois Science Assessment) on March 16th, 18th, and 19th. Please be sure your children get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive to school on time! All of these strategies help our students perform their best!
We will be hosting quite a few events this month to raise funds for St. Baldrick's in order to help find a cure for Childhood Cancer. The proceeds from our t-shirt sales, Open Gym Night, and the Podcast-athon will all go towards this important cause. Please consider participating!
