The Illinois Department of Public Health has updated their recommendations regarding quarantine on their IDPH FAQ document (see #2) stating that vaccinated asymptomatic close contacts to a covid case will NOT have to quarantine and only be required to symptom monitor for 14 days post exposure. Masks still will be required indoors at school as of this new 6/7 update. See #35 in the document for exceptions on masking.

*Parents, if you are considering vaccinating your age 12 and older child, please be cognizant of the timeline (The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is administered as a series of two doses, three weeks apart. Individuals are not considered fully vaccinated until 2 weeks post the second dose). August will be here before you know it and both doses are needed to be considered fully vaccinated. Please reach out to your child’s primary healthcare provider with any questions or concerns as it does appear that immunization status will factor into how IDPH and ISBE will be directing schools to handle close contacts and quarantines. *As soon as we have additional information from the Illinois State Board of Education, we will make it available to our families.
