It is a mild central nervous system stimulant that activates the brain stem and cortex.

What is it used for?

It is used for Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, basically it is used for people that can't focus on anything.

Who shouldn't use it or who needs to be particularly cautious about use?

Persons with anxiety, have a hypersensitivity to the drug, patients with glaucoma, motor tics, family history of Tourette's syndrome, and persons taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor ( antidepressants ).


Those who are at risk of heart conditions should not take

Those under the age of six should not take

Side effects

Nervousness, agitation, anxiety, insomnia, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, palpitations, headache, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, and psychosis.

Serious ones

The symptoms regarding heart health and mental health are the most noteworthy


Being a stimulant, Ritalin, will cause serious heart problems in large doses
