About MOMS
Hello, February!
Hi, ladies!
What a great month of meetings!! One of the best moments that stood out for us from the book discussion this past month is that to be like Mary, you don't need to do more. . .just put more love into what you already do! What a lovely thought to hold in our hearts and inform our living.
We are so looking forward to the many events we have planned over the next few months and also excited to announce that Fr. Rowland will be joining us as our special guest at the last morning and evening meetings of this month on February 23. Father will be sharing with us about the beauty of the sacrament of Reconciliation and offering the sacrament for us as well during our meeting time for anyone who would like to receive it.
God's mercy and love are endless and unfailing. We are so blessed to be on this journey of faith with you.
With love,
Your MOMS Facilitators
Sarah and Jen

Lent 4.2- way better than giving up coffee!!
Lent 4.2 is a 7 week faith formation program that invites participants to reflect deeply on Pope Francis' call to care for creation and the poor. It offers opportunities to enhance Lenten disciplines of prayer, fasting and almsgiving.
We'll be following along with this program that the parish is offering in our own way as moms. Mara L. is going to be our MOMS liaison for the Creation Care Ministry at Holy Spirit and help us find ways every week during Lent that we can take extra good care of the earth God gave us. This will be a great way to do something positive during Lent, and our little weekly sacrifices can add up to make a big difference for our planet! Thanks, Mara, we're looking forward to this!
Lenten Gratitude Project- even better than giving up chocolate!
They say it takes 30-40 days to develop a habit, and what better habit to develop than a grateful spirit! This will be our third Lenten Gratitude Project and we have loved the experience.
You can participate in this project however you want-
1. Keep a running list for all of Lent of what you are grateful for.
2. Take a picture each day of Lent of a gratitude moment or thing and caption it. (you can even instagram and tag it #lentengratitudeproject if you are so inclined)
3. Write a paragraph or journal entry of something you are grateful for each day in your personal journal.
4. Post or comment on our special fb group each day with your gratitude moment. We have a separate ladies-only facebook group created just for this season for sharing gratitude! Add yourself if you would like to be a part. You are welcome and encouraged to add other friends and family outside of MOMS, however please check with them and explain the project to be sure they want to participate before adding them to the group. Last year we had ladies from all across the country, it was wonderful! We'll share the group on our regular moms fb group so that you can add yourself and join in the joy!
5. Any combination of those or something unique to you! Feel free to involve your families, too.
God created us to praise Him. We are so excited to honor His gifts to us this Lent, and to share in the blessing of the friendships He has given us!

What to Expect at a MOMS meeting
Our ministry is open to women with children of ALL ages. We have veteran mamas and brand new moms, and so much to share and learn from one another as we grow in faith!
Meetings start with an opening prayer and introductions, followed by a discussion on various topics related to our motherhood and our faith. Our time together wraps up with prayer intentions and a closing prayer. Attendance is not required every week to be a part of MOMs – just come when you are able.
Please contact us at hspmoms@gmail.com if you have any questions before you attend your first meeting!
