August 19, 20, and 21 - Houston, TX
REGISTRATION ENDS JUNE 30, 2015
The Instructional Rounds Academy is an interactive professional development experience that provides district or campus teams with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully implement Instructional Rounds as a powerful improvement practice. It is best to attend as a district leadership or campus team, including the principal, of four to six members. The team will work together to learn the four components of rounds and the keys to successful implementation.
The academy will be facilitated by Dr. Sheila Maher, a practitioner with 30+ years of experience. She is formerly the Associate Superintendent of Educational Services for Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. Sheila has also served as a teacher, content mastery facilitator, and high school principal. Sheila has attended the Instructional Rounds Institutes at Harvard University and authored the article, "The Promise of an Instructional Improvement Practice: Instructional Rounds" (School Business Magazine, 2012).

What Educators Say About Instructional Rounds...
Elizabeth Gonzalez, Sheldon ISD
This has been the most challenging and rewarding event that I have attended during my tenure at the ESC. It brings together so many elements for improvement of instruction and professional growth. Bravo!
Mary Bush Thomas, ESC 16
I have been to many trainings over the last 15 years, but this has been one of my favorites. Dr. Maher is calm and practical. Information was scaffolded, my time was valued, and I can honestly say I am smarter than I was three days ago!
Kim Carlton, Richardson ISD
