AMCMS Principal's Office
What's Going on in the Principal's Office?!
My Challenge to You
Did you happen to catch this commercial during the Grammys last weekend? Take a minute and watch it either again or for the first time. When you are watching it think about this:
What if all of our students were the same?
So what are your thoughts? Are all of our students the same? Of course not. The reason I ask if all of our students are the same is because that is how we treat our students when we do not differentiate for their learning in the classroom. The same.
When you are building your lessons, when you are planning your activities, when you are determining your learning outcomes you need to be planning for the differences in learners in your classrooms. You need to build in choice options to allow students to have more engagement in the work. Choice options will also create more opportunities for increased rigor in their work.
Choice options can start with a simple question of how can I tweak this lesson/activity/outcome so that I am pushing my highest learners with their rigor while also reaching your lowest learners at their rigor. When you look through that lens you will begin to see the differences in how to design your activities.
Which piano do you want in your classroom?
Think. Achieve. Succeed.

AMCMS SPED Tip of the Week
In This Weeks Edition:
Are you struggling with behaviors in your classroom? Understanding the nature of the behaviors can help you more than you realize...
AMCMS Technology Tip of the Week
Quizizz is multi or single player quiz game similar to Kahoot but with some differences that make it a good alternative. I mean chocolate cake is good but sometimes you need something different. Quizizz allows you to create and play awesome multiplayer quiz games, both in class and at home.
Some of what it does.
The Quizizz editor makes it super-easy to create great quizzes in no time.
While your students are having a blast, you are provided with detailed class and student-level data.
A big difference between Quizizz and Kahoot! is that students play together, but each at their own pace.
Here Is A Learning Opportunity!
