About the Wise Owls Program

The Class of 2019 Wise Owls are a group of students selected by the College of Public Health as pioneers to help freshmen adjust to the academic lifestyle of college. By utilizing the various resources available, students will gain confidence in their abilities to success both in and out of the classroom.

Weekly Advisor Meet and Greet

Meet Advisor Carmella Trippett-Blanks:

Carmella Trippett-Blanks works as an advisor for our Undeclared and Pre-HIM students within CPH. Carmella is a Philadelphia native. Carmella received a BS in Marketing at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a MPA from Keller Graduate School of Management. Since earning her undergraduate degree, Carmella has worked with low-income, high school teen parents to support them in earning their high school diploma and successfully transitioning into a post-secondary program. Prior to joining the advising team in June 2015, Carmella served as a Student Success Coach/Advisor for 4 years at Devry University. Over the past years, Carmella has gained a passion for working with students to navigate the exciting, yet demanding road to college graduation. When Carmella isn’t on campus, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending her children's activities, watching movies, and reading.

The College of Public Health is having our very own Tailgate Tent in Lot K before the game! Come by for free games, food, and fun.

Haven't made it to the gym as much as you wanted to this semester? Don't know what facilities we have? Check out the info below!


IBC: This facility is located on the corner of 15th and Cecil. The first floor fitness space of the IBC includes a free weight area that includes dumbbells, squat racks, and bench presses. Available on 2nd floor fitness is a stretch area, abdominal work area, treadmills, elliptical trainers, stair-steppers, and recumbent and upright bikes for cardiovascular workouts. The third floor features an indoor track. This facility is open most days from 6am to 11pm.


TUF: This facility is located at 1600 N. Broad Street. The TUF facility is over 16,000 square feet of space that includes various pieces of equipment such as: 103 cardio machines, a "light" free weight area, a core workout area, and an 11 piece selectorized equipment circuit. This facility is open most days from 9am to 10pm.


Geasey Field Complex: This facility is located from 15th and Montgomery to 15th and Norris. It features a 160,000+ square foot turf field, a full sized 1/4 mile track, and a multipurpose grass field.

5th Annual Pre-Health Professional Seminar

Thursday, Oct. 22nd, 4-6pm

Walk Auditorium, Ritter Annex

This will be an info session to learn all the in's and out's of applying to all of Temple University's graduate programs. Programs include: Kornberg School of Dentistry, School of Medicine, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, and Podiatric Medicine. Come learn exactly what they are looking for and how you can become a viable candidate!

Homecoming Golf Cart Parade and Pep Rally

Friday, Oct. 9th, 2:30pm

Polett Walk

Philadelphia, PA

Main Campus Program Board will be hosting Temple’s first annual golf cart parade. Top student organizations, fraternities and sororities and departments will be decorating golf carts to be judged by an esteem panel. After the golf cart parade, MCPB and Athletics will be hosting their annual pep rally at the bell tower. Inflatables, music and food will be provided.
