Direct Democracy
"Where everyone has a voice!"
What is it?
Each citizen has a voice in public affairs, and decisions, once made, had widespread support. This form of government is time consuming for citizens. In the modern world no country is governed as a pure direct democracy.
Switzerland
The closest to a pure direct democracy is in Switzerland. They vote regularly to approve laws passed by their legislature. Which is known as the reference process. They citizens may also propose laws & submit them directly to voters in the initiative process. Voter turn out is usually low, because people get tired of frequent elections.
