Lacto Ovo: Does not eat animal flesh of any kind, but consumes dairy and egg products.

How they obtain nutrients: They obtain Iron through legumes and leafy greens. Calcium from orange juice, tofu and cereal. Vitamin D from soy milk and butter spreads and Vitamin B12 dairy products.


Ovo: Is a type of vegetarianism which allows for the consumption of eggs.

How they obtain nutrients: Iron through leafy greens, Vitamin D from soy milk and Vitamin B12.



Vegan and Vegetarian

Vegan: A person who does not eat or use animal products. How they obtain nutrients: Protein: wheat, pasta, rice. Carbohydrates: wholegrain, potatoes. Vitamins: A,B,C,D,E.Calcium: nuts, seeds, molasses. Vitamin B12: Milk


Vegetarian: A person who does not eat meat, and sometimes other animal products, for moral, religious, personal or health reasons. How they obtain nutrients: veggie burger, tofu, orange juice, lentils, whole grains.
