The Dust Bowl
The Dust Bowl was caused by droughts and dry seasons. At the end of these large dust storms cars, animals and even entire houses were covered by dust and dirt. The dust winds were so strong dust went through their houses and into their homes. If any people left their homes and went outside they would suffocate from the dust.
Winds would pick up dust and wipe out buildings.
People had to use gas masks to breathe during the Dust Bowl.
The black region represents where the dust bowl hit in the midwest.
