Boyer Bulletin

October 16, 2021

Good Morning Boyer Families,

It was a short week but one full of learning and laughter. The next two weeks are very busy. Next week our third graders are heading to the Natatorium for Swim Week and our fifth graders are going to Sky Ranch.

Red Ribbon Week is October 25-29th and the dress-up days are listed below. Second grade will have their fall concert on the 27th and our inaugural Trunk-or-Treat event is on October 29th. Your child's teacher will have more information in their weekly newsletter.

We are ready to invite parents into the building for lunch. We will be limiting the number of visitors in the cafeteria to ten per grade level. We will use the same Sign-Up Genius link as before. Click HERE to sign-up.

The Boyer Library Storybook Pumpkin Patch is OPEN! See the flyer below for more details. The response has been amazing and I've shared some pictures below.

Please review the health screening questions each day. If your child is experiencing the symptoms listed, please use the campus link to notify the nurse and keep them home until the nurse connects with you. It is more important than ever to keep students home when they are displaying any symptoms of illness.

Attendance protocols have changed for the 2021-22 school year. Click HERE to review those protocols. You will have ten excused absences for the year instead of five.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions about the information in this week's Boyer Bulletin.

Sincerely,

Mr. Bill

Boyer Elementary, Principal

Mitigation Measures

Across Prosper ISD, students may notice some changes to our practices and procedures. COVID numbers in our community continue to rise, and although we hoped to return to a more traditional school year, it has become apparent we must implement some of the mitigation efforts that helped us keep schools open last year.

Please review the health screening questions each day. If your child is experiencing the symptoms listed, please use the campus link to notify the nurse and keep them home until the nurse connects with you. It is more important than ever to keep students home when they are displaying any symptoms of illness. You will have ten excused absences for the semester instead of five.

Masks remain optional, but we are encouraging students and staff to wear masks indoors, especially when they are in close contact with others. However, we absolutely respect the rights of our families to make this very personal choice.

We will continue to encourage hand washing and hand sanitizing frequently throughout the day.

We will encourage social distancing when possible, and may limit large indoor gatherings like assemblies. Additionally, we are asking you to limit nonessential visits to campus. There may be other operational adjustments that we make to our daily routine, but most will probably go unnoticed by students. Our kids have shown an amazing amount of flexibility and resilience over the last two school years, and I know they will all respond in a helpful way to whatever adjustments we make.
