High School Solo and Ensemble Deadline Tomorrow (Monday!)

High School students who are interested in participating in this year's solo and ensemble festival need to turn in their form and $9 tomorrow (Monday, November 27th).


Solo & Ensemble is February 9th (late afternoon/evening) and February 10th (all day). Students with religious or athletic conflicts can perform on the 9th - they just need to put that choice on their form.


This is a firm deadline - so if you/your student needs more time to get the money, please turn in the form so we can get the registration in on time.

Middle School Solo and Ensemble is this Saturday - December 2nd!

All MS students who signed up for Solo & Ensemble have all been assigned times. The performances will be be this Saturday, December 2nd, at Edwardsburg High School. Students should arrive 30-45 minutes ahead of their performance time to allow for appropriate warm up and logistical orientation. Students performing solos will get two opportunities to work with their accompanist this week.


Remember, the middle school band room is open until 3:30 on Tuesday/Thursday for extra practicing!

Winter Concert Approaching!

When: December 13th @ 7:00pm (students must arrive in uniform by 6:30pm)

Where: High School Gymnasium

Wear:

6th grade - band polo shirt (school provided), black pants, black socks, black shoes (student provided). Girls may wear black skirts and nylons if they choose.

7th/8th grade - white tux shirt, black vest, black tux pants, green bowtie/rosette (school provided), black socks, black shoes, white undershirt (student provided)

HS - Men: full tux w/green vest, green tie (school provided), black socks, black shoes (student provided). Women: black band dress (school provided), black nylons, black shoes (student provided)


Since the 13th is a half day, students will have a joint rehearsal in the morning. MS students will report to the MS band room at 8am. We will walk over to the HS and rehearse the music and seating logistics for the evening concert. We need all students to be in attendance for this rehearsal. With the 6th and 7th grade bands split, this is the ONLY rehearsal those students get with the full band.


We will need 3-4 parents available to help with the rehearsal. Duties include walking students from the middle school to high school (and back) and keeping the students quiet while the directors rehearse the music. Time commitment is 7:45-11am.


We will need 4-5 parents available to help with the concert. Duties include keeping the students quiet during the concert and taking up any cell phones or electronic devices. Students are expected to watch their peers perform at the concert - not snapchat. :-) Time commitment is 6:30-8:30pm


We will need 1-2 parents available from 5:45-6:45pm to help students with last minute "uniform catastrophes". Often, students need help fastening bowties, finding uniform parts, or just need reminders to tuck in their shirts.


If you can help at all on the 13th, please let a director know.

HS Disney trip must be paid in full by Feb. 7th. Total student cost is $1,079.
