Red Wolf (Canis rufus)
By: Taelor West
Location
There is not much information of where they are but there have been sightings of red wolves in living in eastern North Carolina
Reason for endangerment
This is one of the most endangered wild canids. They were at one point one of the most common but the population severely declined due to intensive predator control programs and loss off habitat.
What is being done.
To keep the species from going extinct, red wolves are being bed in captivity and some even being set free. Now the red wolf population is growing in the wild and captivity.
