Letter from the Board
Hello Chisago Lakes Area Chamber Members,
It’s hard to believe that summer is coming to an end and a new season is upon us! We ended the summer with a bang with two major events for the Chisago Lakes Chamber under our belt - the Chisago Lakes Triathlon and the Chisago Lakes Chamber Annual Golf event. Both events were a huge success.
We heard over and over from the athletes how much they love coming here and how great our volunteers were. That is something to be proud about! We hope to continue to bring patrons to our surrounding businesses through the Chamber and the Chisago Lakes Triathlon!
For our annual golf event, we sold out in record time. We were able to support our local Chisago Lakes Early Literacy Program to help make a difference for our youth to encourage and help develop the necessary reading skills to be successful in the years to come.
Thank you again to all those who participated. We couldn’t have done these events without our amazing sponsors and volunteers. We can’t thank them enough for all their support, hard work, and dedication to make these events a success. It just goes to show, once again, how great our community truly is!
September is here and we are embracing another month of change and transition. The kids are going back to school, the leaves will begin to change colors, we’ll break out those football jerseys and do I dare say everything pumpkin spice. But in all seriousness, September is also Life Insurance awareness month. Now, more than ever, as the reality of world circumstances has changed, our priorities need to be re-examined. Have you thought about the financial impact to your loved ones or to your business if you were no longer present financially? Did you know that very few life insurance policies obtained through the workplace maintain 5, 10 or even 15+ years of financial stability? Have you reviewed your current life or disability policy? Especially in light of our current world environment and all the changes we’ve endured the last year, consider talking with your trusted insurance advisor or give Empire a call and speak with one of our Life Insurance specialists to review and personalize a plan that works for your family or company's needs. There is no better time than now.
Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy Fall season!
Sincerely,
Nikki Vodicka

Community Book Club
Many of you know that the story of Karl Oskar and Kristina is a fictional account written by Vilhelm Moberg in the 1940's & 1950's. In the 1970's a movie was made that met with wild success. You're invited to join us as a community book club in reading this 4 book series.

If you don't already have copies of the books, you can purchase them locally at Glädje, Gammelgården Museum, and Chisago County Historical Society, or check the library too.
