Bulldog Newsletter
August 15, 2019
Greetings Clairemont CREW,
We are having an awesome time getting to know the students in our CREW. We have begun MAP testing and will continue to assess students to maximize and inform our instruction. All students visited the media center for orientation and book check out. Thank you for helping us make the beginning of this school year a success!
District Update
Please review the Student Partner Expectations from the Code of Conduct and Restorative Practices Handbook with your student provided below. CSD Parent Handbook link
*Excerpt from page 8 in the handbook.
Student partners are expected to:
Engage in their academic growth;
Attend school regularly and be on time for school and classes;
Be prepared for and participate in learning by having a positive attitude, asking thoughtful questions, completing and returning homework on time, and seeking help when needed;
Demonstrate personal academic integrity and social responsibility in face-to-face and/or online interaction with everyone;
Commit to constant personal growth and improvement.
Be a responsive and responsible partner in their school community;
Value one another’s differences
Resolve conflicts using restorative practices: discussion, peer mediation, or assistance from school personnel:
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a safe, clean, green, and orderly school;
Follow all lawful directions;
Demonstrate care for themselves and others;
Take responsibility for their own behavior, realizing there are always options and consequences for choices;
Dress in accordance with the CSD dress code;
Bring home communication from school and return all necessary materials;
Take care of the personal property of others.
Please take time over the next week to fully review the CSD Parent Handbook found on the CSD Website Families tab under resources. A hard copy of the Parent Handbook Sign Off Sheet was sent home on 8/8/19. Please sign and return to school by 8/14/19. If you have any questions about the handbook, please contact the Clairemont School Office.
*Each week, The Clairemont Bulldog will feature a District Initiative Update to help communicate the ways Clairemont promotes CSD's District Improvement Plan to: Advance Educational Equity, Accelerate Student Achievement and Build a Positive Culture and Climate. We are grateful for your support and partnership and please let us know if you have any questions.

Clairemont CREW 6 Day Schedule
Schedule Update
To assist with the appropriate clothing choices for each day, we have attached our 6 Day Schedule. Our specials follow a 6 Day Rotation and this calendar is provided to help you know when your child has art or PE.
MAP Assessment
Star Early Literacy Test
Arrival/Dismissal Traffic Pattern
After School Pickup
If your child is a van rider for an after school program and has a transportation change, please inform the child's homeroom teacher, the after school program, and Ms. Perkins in the main office about the change. By doing so, we can ensure that our van riders are safe and where they need to be after school.
If your child is in Animal Crackers, please park in the parking spaces to pick them up. The parking lot becomes very unsafe when cars are having to drive around a double parked vehicles or vehicles parked on the curb.
Thank you for your support of our CREW!
