Giving tree to support our WHMS families this time of year
Knight Nation,
We would like to welcome our new full time Orchestra Teacher, Ms. Larsen to WHMS. Ms. Fleck was gracious enough to substitute for us for the first quarter in the Orchestra classes, and we were fortunate to hire Ms. Larsen, a former CCPS student and graduate as our Orchestra Teacher. The Orchestra Concert is Wednesday, December 6th at Mary Harrison Center at 7pm with students reporting at 6pm.
We have many activities underway for the holidays including a Toys for Tots drive, a Holiday Dance, December 15th, Book Fair this week, with family night Tuesday from 5-7pm, and our annual Giving Tree. Toys must be brought in by December 6th and need to be new, unwrapped toys.
NJHS will also be selling "Brrr Bags" the week of December 11th during lunches, and they will be distributed December 18th. Each bag will be full of love to keep kids' hearts warm $2.

Principal, Windy Hill Middle School

Health - Family Life and Human Sexuality Opt - Out Process
We encourage parents to speak with the teacher to further understand what is being taught and to determine if there are specific elements in which you would want your child to participate. Students who are excused from family life learning objectives will receive appropriate alternative learning in health education outside of the health classroom. If you have any questions regarding the curriculum, please contact your child’s teacher. You can find the letter here: https://resources.finalsite.net/images/v1694008493/calvertnetk12mdus/gqowzbcfkpluqtcf8abp/MS-Opt-Out-Letter.pdf
LOST AND FOUND
The lost and found collection is already growing on our stage. We will be discarding or donating any items left there the end of next week. The items will be discarded every other Friday for sanitary reasons. Students are encouraged to look for anything they're missing during lunch. If you wish to come in and look yourself, please come check in at the main office and you may take a look on our stage!
