St. Viator Parish School
Viator Voice: August 17, 2020
WHILE OUR FACES ARE COVERED AT ST. VIATOR JUST TO BE SAFE, PLEASE KNOW WE ARE SMILING FROM EAR TO EAR!
WELCOME TO THE 2020-21 ACADEMIC SCHOOL YEAR!
On behalf of our Pastor, faculty and staff, I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2020-21 school year!
As I enter my sixth year as principal at SVS, I have recognized that we are truly blessed to have a Catholic community of parents, grandparents, and extended families who work together to enrich the educational experience of our students.
Once again, this year we are looking forward to a productive partnership to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our students need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in their education and we ask for your guidance and support by ensuring that he/she:
- Follows the campus arrival and dismissal procedures as well as adheres to safety and hygiene protocols in place.
- Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience.
- Completes all homework assignments given by teachers
- Reads daily to develop a love of reading and to improve literacy skills
- Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of the daily school life.
- Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject as we are here to assist in many ways.
Finally, we ask for your prayers and your patience. Please allow us to adjust to our "new normal". Stay tuned for weekly updates. Be assured that we are here to support you and your children - we remain in this together.
Blessings,
Mrs. Tracy Brunelle, Principal
OUR NEW NORMAL FOR NOW
We have always stated that the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and families will be our top priority when re-opening our campus. Our administrators, faculty, and staff have been working extraordinarily hard planning for in-person instruction while focusing on making our campuses safe for everyone. In constructing our reopening plans, we have closely studied the recommendations from federal and state authorities, as well as medical professionals who have provided guidance as members of our Diocesan Restoration Advisory Council.
We remain confident that our school is ready and well prepared to meet the challenges of our ever-changing public health conditions as the first day of the school year begins tomorrow.
PLEASE, we don't want to be GRINCHES...
We are truly looking forward to seeing you and we are confident you are looking forward to seeing your SVS friends! Please remember that our SAFE PLAN TO RETURN hinges on small group cohorts, hygiene, and social distancing.
We prefer not to be a GRINCH and ask people to wear masks, keep distance, avoid intermixing cohorts after school as much as possible. Help us stay well and stay in school! Thank you!
EACH DAY, ASK: CAN MY CHILD GO TO SCHOOL TODAY?
(Print for your fridge or exit door to consider each morning)
It is not feasible for young students to carry all on the first day of school. Please send only what students can bring in their backpack each day until all needed supplies arrive on campus.
