Board Member & Superintendent Reports
Mr. Newcomb shared that he visited several schools just prior to the winter break.
Ms. Dill and Mr. Abner both stated that they enjoyed the winter concerts, and were happy to attend the new Greensboro Elementary groundbreaking.
Mr. Rowe shared that he too found the groundbreaking to be a great event that was well planned.
Ms. Cheek stated that the elementary school concerts were the highlight of her year.
Dr. Saelens also mentioned the school concerts, saying she appreciated seeing the progression of skill from elementary to middle to high school. She also referenced recently graduating from Leadership Maryland and thanked the board for their support of her participation.

Student Representative Reports
Isha Sehar, representative from Colonel Richardson High School (CRHS), highlighted the following news in her report:
- Federalsburg Elementary School held an assembly for fifth graders that addressed the dangers of vaping.
- Preston Elementary School is preparing for a second academic night entitled "Growing Together."
- Col. Richardson Middle School 8th graders will soon be touring CRHS and CCTC to learn about program options and begin the high school scheduling process.
- Col. Richardson High School is gearing up for testing season.
Hailey Guack, representative from North Caroline High School (NCHS), highlighted the following news in her report:
- Denton Elementary School's Wellness Committee is collaborating with Fuel Up to Play 60 students to share monthly fitness videos with students and staff in January.
- Greensboro Elementary School held a successful 'reverse Advent' food drive with staff in December.
- Ridgely Elementary School had an ice cream reading incentive in January.
- Lockerman Middle School 8th graders will soon be touring NCHS and CCTC to learn about program options and begin the high school scheduling process.
- Caroline Career and Technology is preparing for 8th graders to visit.
- North Caroline High School is preparing for testing season.

RECOGNITIONS
Completion of Doctoral Degree by Dr. Nicole VonDenBosch
Dr. Saelens recognized Dr. Nicole M. VonDenBosch, Colonel Richardson High School principal, for recently completing a doctoral degree in Innovation and Leadership Program from Wilmington University. Dr. Saelens spoke of the time and hard work involved in this accomplishment, and praised Dr. VonDenBosch for her tenacity and determination.

INDIVIDUAL ACTION ITEMS
Bidding School System Auditing Services
Mr. Nagel presented the policy on bidding school system auditing services which was revised to reflect the current market place for auditing firms, and to allow for utilization of procurement services performed by another school system or government entity.
The board approved the revised policy.
