AES News
Dear AES Families,
It is great to be back in person with our students! The students have been working so hard, and they are demonstrating our school's core values every day: respect, honesty, kindness, cooperation, and grit. In this newsletter, you will find information about Title 1, PTO, student meals and more. Also, If you haven't had the opportunity to see the Conval nurses' newsletter, please click here. If you are interested in reading about the district budget process, please click here.
Wishing you a happy, healthy and peaceful weekend,
Stephanie
Jumping Students or Squirrels?
Ms/ Hartshorne's first and second grade class is SO glad to be back in person! They got to practice jumping from branch to branch today (by drawing chalk on the sidewalk!) They realized how amazing our squirrel friends really are in their ability to jump so well and so far!
Title 1 Annual Meeting & PTO Meeting
Please save the date: February 4, 2021 at noon on zoom. We will have our annual Title 1 meeting immediately followed by the AES PTO meeting. The PTO is looking to reinvigorate itself, and we invite you to get involved. See the attached flyer for details below or click here.
Kindergarten Writing: What if kids ran the world?
A Note from Mr. Stultz
Checking out library books has never been easier. As our students are back in the building with chromebooks, access to the library is a piece of cake. Students can have an individual Zoom book discussion/request session on their personal chromebooks. They can remotely request a book on their own time through Destiny Discover. They can have an entire class book request combined with a Zoom meeting led by their teacher. Or they get to meet in person and choose from our mobile library cart. Having the opportunity to switch from Pod A to Pod B has been a treat. It's nice to reunite in person with students within Pod B.
An Update from Mr. MacLeod
Mr. MacLeod's class is excited to be back at school learning with our friends! We have been practicing our good habits of Four To Soar (masks, 6 feet apart, handwashing, learning spaces). In writing this week, we have been practicing supporting our main ideas with details. We also had time to work hard on Typing; our average accuracy level is now 96%, up from 80% in November!
