All Doors to School Will Now Be Locked
This school year, the KPBSD is requiring all elementary school doors to be locked during the academic school day. We understand this may be an inconvenience for some parents and staff, but the KPBSD holds school safety to the utmost level. As you know, the district is in the process of changing out traditional locking doors with electronic locking mechanisms. School principals can give you more information about this process.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Moose Pass School Message from our new Principal
Hello Moose Pass Community!
First off, I would like to say how excited I am to be joining Moose Pass School. Looking through the rosters, I recognize a decent number of names from SMS, so I look forward to reconnecting with you and getting to know some new faces as well. Do not be concerned when you get a call from the Moose Pass School, I will be trying to connect with you before the year starts to introduce myself and answer any questions you may have.
I would like to welcome Jake Blakemore to the Moose Pass family. He will be the custodian at Moose Pass School. He will be splitting his time between Moose Pass and Cooper Landing. Welcome Jack!
I hope everyone is excited for the 2022-23 school year. Our staff is currently hard at work preparing to welcome students back into the building, starting August 16th. The school day will run from 8:45am-3:15pm. There will be an Open House sometime in early September. Date and Time TBD. We are all ready to get back to school and look forward to working with you all this year. Please keep an eye on your email for any updates throughout the school year, and don’t hesitate to give me a call or shoot me an email. I have included my cell number as well. Since I am not in Moose Pass full time that is the going to be the easiest and quickest way to get ahold of me. Except while I’m sitting in the construction between here and Seward…
Thanks,
Matt Potter
