MEET OUR NEW STAFF!
Matt Bork
My name is Matthew Bork, I am an Avondale alumni, and English teacher at Avondale Academy. After Graduating from Avondale in 2004 I spent six years in the United States Navy, serving aboard two ships in Norfolk, Virginia. After being discharged I attended Old Dominion University also in Norfolk. My teaching experience includes time in Virginia Beach Schools and time at Avondale Middle School. I teach English for students in grades 9-12.
Eric Kravako
Hi, my name is Eric Kravako. I was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan. I am the new art teacher at the Avondale Academy and look forward to a progressive year. Outside of class I work as a full time artist, with a focus on drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramics. I really enjoy my room at the Academy and recently began transforming the space into a versatile studio and gallery. I look forward to helping each student find a path in the arts and take on the task of providing my students with the best art supplies on the market. To learn more about my mission you can visit my website at www.okavark.org.

WHAT IS ASVAB TESTING AND HOW DO I SIGN UP TO TAKE IT?
We will be offering free ASVAB testing for any 11th or 12th grade student interested in participating in testing on Thursday Jan 26th during 1-3rd hours at school. Students need to pick up a permission slip and have it returned to our counseling department by: 1-24-17.
The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is an aptitude test that measures your strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success. The ASVAB also provides students with career information for various civilian and military occupations. In addition, your scores on the ASVAB composite tests will determine your career field or military occupation eligibility. Since enlistment bonuses are usually tied to your choice of occupations, the better the score, the more opportunities you have. For more information go to: http://www.military.com/join-armed-forces/asvab/asvab-test-explained.html
