ABOUT YOGA

Yoga is a system that focuses on harmony between body and mind. The word yoga comes from Sanskrit language and means union or blend. The ultimate aim of this philosophy is to strike a balance between mind and body. To achieve this, yoga uses movement, breath, posture, relaxation and meditation to establish a healthy balanced approach to life.

Though the exact origins of Yoga are unknown there are records that show this ancient practice has existed for over 4000 years. It is considered to be the oldest physical discipline in existence and symbolizes balance in every area of life.


Yoga has too many benefits to list but here are just a few:

  • Calms the mind through restoring mental agility
  • Decreases nervousness, irritability, and confusion
  • Helps detoxify the body
  • Revives attention and willingness

Yoga is for every-BODY. Whether you are new to yoga or have been doing it for years, this class is for you.

WHAT YOU NEED

* Bring a yoga mat (can be purchased at Ross or TJMax for under $10)

* Bring water

* Wear loose clothing

* Wear hair back

* Your own props are welcomed as long as you assume responsibility for them (blocks, straps, blankets, etc)

Class will be held Tuesdays from 6 - 7PM & Thursdays 6-7PM beginning March 23rd
