Do you which know sites your child is visiting on tablets, phones, etc...? Do you know the apps your child is using which may be inappropriate? Are you in charge of managing texts your child might send or receive? It's the world of technology we now live in and it is not going away. As parents and school employees, we must stay on top of the daily changes with technology and how your child uses technology in daily life. While using school technology, we have the ability to block sites, monitor conversations and manage usage. At home, on the bus, in the car or other places, if you provide your child with a data plan, it is an open world unless your carefully manage it. We teach the importance of technology safety at school but I urge you to keep an eye on your child's phone, tablet, etc... Check out the history, apps, chats, and texts which may be occurring. If you are viewing this newsletter online, you can click on the words cell phones and technology above and you will be directly linked to a parent website which has apps and information for monitoring technology. If you are reading this newsletter on paper, please go to the following link for the information:

Ear buds, jackets, and sweaters

A great stocking stuffer for your child would be ear buds! Students use them daily in multiple classes. The ear buds do not need to be expensive and can be kept in their backpacks.

Please label all jackets, sweaters, and hoodies. Each season we have a large number of unclaimed items.

Dancing Drum Program

Last Friday, we had the privilege of having Steve Campbell teach our students about responsibility, character, work habits, etc... with drums. The students played a variety of drumming instruments while learning about keys to success for school as well as life. The teachers and students thoroughly enjoyed the program and a great time was had by all in attendance. Ask your child about this wonderful experience.

Thank You

Thank you for sharing your child with us. We work daily not only to teach reading, English, math, science, social studies, computer, PE and music skills but also to teach your child lessons to be successful in life. These lessons include honesty, responsibility, work ethic, friendship, soft skills, etc...

We are in need of JA (Junior Achievement) volunteers for 5th and 6th grade classrooms. JA involves teaching lessons about regions and the world, one day a week for 5 weeks. The lessons and materials are prepared and scripted. If you are interested, please contact me at the campus or email me.

Christmas Holidays

We wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. School will resume at normal hours on Monday, January 4th.
