Excellence In Everything - Edition I
Great Start!
Well, we are back at it! Getting the school year off the ground is exciting, challenging and rewarding all at the same time. I think our kids enjoyed their first days of school, and I appreciate all of your efforts getting through the many curve balls that are thrown at us. I've loved seeing the team building efforts in your classes(or was it called class building?? I always got those confused) and we started building the relationships that will get us through the year. Thank you!!
Walkthroughs Already??
Mrs. Walker and I have always made it a goal to do an unofficial walkthrough on every class before Labor Day. We love to get into classrooms, but it's also important for her and I to discuss what we saw so we can give consistent feedback. We will share our notes with you, but just know it's really more for us to get on the same page.
Passes
Any student that leaves your class needs a pass that says who they are, where they are coming from, where they are going to, and what time they left your class. I've attached passes to this email if you want to print them, but please make sure the students are accountable for where they are going. Just make sure to use paper passes, not a broken 45 pound plate that could break a toe if it was dropped(hypothetical example, of course!).
Duty Schedule! If you can't make your duty assignment, please make sure to get it covered.
Deadlines Coming Up!
Just to put these on your radar - your Acknowledgement of Training and Professional Goals are due on September 5th. These can be found in Eduphoria - if you need help getting into Edphoria or have questions, let us know and we will help.
#Attendance Lives Matter
Please make sure to do your attendance very carefully - we've found a few students in classes that they weren't supposed to be in. 6th graders especially are overwhelmed by a lot right now, so make sure the kids on your roll sheet are the only students in your room.
Pictures Needed!
Mrs. Kaiser needs pictures please! She needs a current picture(anything over the summer is fine) and then a younger picture(High school? Baby pic? Your call.) You can email those to Monica and she'll take care of it from there.
Pretty Cool Stuff
Ms. Rangel, our new Spanish teacher, has been organizing a fund raiser that made CBS Austin on Friday! Here's the clip - her event is mentioned at the 1:50 mark - pretty awesome!!
