No Doubt
Be the best
In Tuesday's Principals meeting Dr. Jimerson asked us if we, as a district, wanted to be the best. He then went on to challenge us to do the things others aren't willing to do, because that is how you become the best. I immediately thought of our school. We often talk about where we rank among the ten elementary's in the district. Last year when fifth grade scores came out, for the first time in a long time, we were at the top of the list. When all the accountability scores came out and we got a B, we were in the top half of the list. When we learned that we earned three distinctions, again, top of the list. We've gotten a taste of victory and now we are fighting the fight again, doing what we know is best for our students, and this will result in high scores again. We have three weeks left of instruction in our fall semester, again, it has FLOWN by! I want to ask you, what will you do in these last three weeks to ensure that when you walk out of the door on December 21st there is no doubt in your mind that your students have grown this first semester and they are ready to come back in January and attack the spring. Yes, this is one of those Smore's that requires an email response! Email Emily and me your answer by Wednesday at 5.
No interruptions during small groups
This is a topic that continues to come up as Emily and I are doing observations. I found this blog article and thought it had some good ideas. It becomes a procedural thing and we must respond the same way every time!
