Word for the Warrior:
TWO DAYS UNTIL THANKSGIVING!
We have much for which to be grateful! In my time at Sevier, I believe this has been our smoothest start of the school-year, by far, and I believe that is a result of the intentional hard work of our staff as we have continued to seek to build relationships and create a positive culture here at Sevier! THANK YOU!
Michael Hubbard will be at Sevier tomorrow share TN Ready Data from last year and along with that, as a recommendation from our Data Action Team, in what would be most helpful, Kyle has run reports of your current students' scale scores in regards to their performance on the TN READY last year. What is most powerful about what he has done is that he has highlighted all students who were one question away from proficiency. Likewise, it is also important to consider those students who were one question away from NOT being proficient. These "bubble kids" are important to note as we support student work this year, especially in our own CFA data conferences. While all of us (including Michael) have questions and even skepticism regarding the data, it is how the state is measuring us and we are wise to look at it for what it is and respond to what we see. Michael is on our side and is always the encourager. Tomorrow, he will be with Social Studies teachers for the first half of the planning period and Language Arts teachers the second. Please come to the JSMS Conference room tomorrow for our Michael Meeting. I know some of you also have CFA data conferences with Jessica, she will meet with you the other half of planning tomorrow. This will take your entire planning block tomorrow. We try not to do this, but we really can't afford to wait on TN Ready Data or our CFA data. Thank you for your engagement and work as we seek to support our kids!
I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend! Again...just two days...two days!
GRATEFUL to be a Warrior,
Holly

WARRIOR WHOOP!
From Debbie Moore...
I want to give a huge shout out to Mr Fissel and Mr Hilton. They went with me after school to deliver food boxes to our families who live in Model City. An awesome team who I am honored to work with. --Debbie Moore
