Parkview Elementary Weekly News
Thursday Newsletter: February 2, 2023
From the Principal
Good Afternoon Parkview Families,
The frigid temperatures have settled in and we are noticing some of our students are not coming to school with warm winter clothing. Please make sure your child has covering for their head, hands, and a warm coat. We also hope students have boots and snow pants. We will be going outside for recess if the temperatures allow, which means the air and windchill are above zero. If you need support in winter clothing for your child, please reach out to the school and we will be happy to help. Our school social workers have access to resources to support children that need winter clothing.
There are many weeks of winter remaining and we want to ensure all of our students are warm and safe as they are arriving and departing from school.
We hope you have had the opportunity to sign up for conferences next week. If you have not signed up, please use this link to reserve a time:

Next week, our teachers will be reaching out to families that have not yet scheduled. The Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the library during conferences. February 8, 4:00-7:45 pm and February 9, 12:00-7:30 pm.
We hope to see you at the PTO Bingo Night on Saturday Night!
Thank you to all of the families that have graciously offered to donate items to the meal for our staff next Thursday.
In Partnership,
Nicole Garcia, Principal

Quality public schools are at the core of thriving communities. Many families report choosing to live in District 196 because of the quality of the schools, the opportunities for students and our Triple-A, whole-child approach to learning through academics, arts and athletics. Quality schools keep demand for housing strong and property values higher. District 196 will be moving forward with a Bond Referendum Vote on May 9, 2023 To learn more about this please visit this link: https://www.district196.org/about/bond
Online registration is open for incoming kindergarten 2023. We are excited to welcome our new kindergarten friends to our community. Here is the link for online registration: https://www.district196.org/about/enrolling-your-child
