Oct. 18th - CME School Improvement Survey Closes
YOU Decide Where Our Funds Go!
If you missed last week’s CMEA meeting, we approved grants for teachers and staff, including:
Speech language pathology items | 1st-grade supplies | Preschool supplies | Recess ball cart | iReady Reading personalized seats for the whole school | Professional Development Opportunities for our specials teachers | 10 ukuleles | 5th-grade postcard exchange supplies | New dishwasher for Staff | Art supplies | Field trips for nearly every grade level | SSN items | SPED items
You can read all the meeting notes HERE.
We also had a discussion about what the fundraising funds should go toward. Final bid information for a free-standing electronic marquee came in right as Boosterthon was ending, and it’s a much higher cost than anticipated, unfortunately. So to provide CME families an opportunity to have a voice in improvements at school, CMEA researched numerous ideas from parents and staff over the years and presented it in this slide deck.
Please review the slide deck and cast a vote for your top 2 improvements.
The survey will be open until October 18th.
We Need Your Help!
There are so many great things underway at CME! If you've been considering helping out in any way, now's the perfect time! Here are a few of our top needs (more info in the "Volunteer Opportunities" section below):
Our yearbook committee is looking for class parent representatives for the following classes:
- Osowski
- Dew
- Dunn
- Hollist
- Mackin
- Zehner
- Feinstein
- Feltz
- Broomhead
If you are a parent with a kiddo in one of those classes, we would love to have you be the class parent rep. Your role? Be the go-to person for gathering and sending in photos for that class. You don’t have to be the main photographer. :) Just collect and forward photos from other parents from that class. Email coppermesayearbook@gmail.com or text 607-725-7647 if you are interested in being a class rep.
Our Daughter Dance prep is well underway with a tentative date of January 27th. We have plenty of opportunities for you to help -- even if you can't be there the night of the event. Interested? Reach out to us at cmeapto@gmail.com.
And speaking of, we need a few parent organizers to help plan our Son Event, so we can get an event and date on the books. Please consider planning something special for our boys at CME! Ideas? Availability? Let us know! Reach out to cmeapto@gmail.com.
Do you already contribute to Milk Caps for Moolah? Then why not be the one to let Longmont know when it's time to cut that big, fat check? You'll be responsible for gathering milk caps from the collection bin by the front office when it's full. Once you've picked up the full bag 2-3 times, you simply coordinate with Longmont Dairy for porch pickup from your home using their redemption form. Longmont Dairy then sends a check to Copper Mesa. How easy is that?! We will provide you with the form and contact info. Email cmeapto@gmail.com if you're interested.
Helping to Plan a Halloween Party?
Likewise, don't forget about our King Soopers rewards! One of our biggest and easiest fundraisers has proven to be King Soopers Cards. In just over a year, our total donation received is typically in excess of $15,000. If you haven’t registered your rewards number (phone number) yet, please do so. It’s quick and easy and a great way to earn funds for our school. This money helps us to pay for teacher and school grants and host some of our events.
- Visit kingsooperscommunityrewards.com.
- Sign in or register with your King Soopers card or phone number.
- Click on Enroll.
- Search by school code (AB638) or organization name (Copper Mesa Elementary School - CMEA).
Got Pics?
Please share your fun CME moments with our Copper Mesa Yearbook Committee at coppermesayearbook@gmail.com to help us create the most memorable yearbook. We would love to see photos from Boosterthon, Back to School Night Celebration, cool painted Spirit Rocks, or anything else you've captured. Be sure to include your student’s grade and teacher with each submission.
We are able to do so many events and fundraisers for our school because of the wonderful volunteers we have. If you are interested in helping our efforts, please let us know by completing our online form and indicating the areas you would like to help us with this year: Volunteer Form.
Upcoming CMEA Events: TBD
We are currently looking for volunteers for Teacher/Staff Appreciation, our Daughter Event, our Son Event, School Beautification, and our Spring Fundraiser. If you would like to volunteer with CMEA in any of these areas, please let us know.
CMEA Shed Cleanup and Organizing: TBD
Do you like labeling? Do you watch videos of people organizing their homes? Are you slightly obsessed with "The Home Edit"? Join us as we dig through years of Copper Mesa history by cleaning up and organizing the CMEA shed! Let us know you're interested and when you have availability.
