A Message from our Principal...
Birmingham Families,
Pumpkins, candy corn, and costumes.....Hello, October!!!! I still can't even believe we are in October!! WOW!!! We've got a busy month ahead us, BUT busy is good!! Busy means we get to celebrate students and teachers.....and we get to hang out with our Birmingham families at Parent-Teacher conferences!! WOOHOO!!!
4th grade parents:
TOMORROW is the track meet!!! Don't forget.....we are asking all of our Bears to wear their BLUE 'Living The Dream' shirt! Students will either need to bring a sack lunch or should have one ordered from the Birmingham cafeteria. Extra water and sunscreen are highly encouraged and recommended!! Excited to cheer on our Bears tomorrow!! (one of my most favorite days of the school year)
We are looking for donations for New or Gently used college t-shirts for our Bears!! Many of our Bears do not have a college t-shirt and we have a goal to make sure ALL 540 of them have a Think College Thursday shirt. Can you help? OR know someone who can? (flyer attached)
NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY!!!
Monday is a student/staff holiday!! Anyone going to the State Fair?!?!
Book Character Pumpkin Contest starts TUESDAY!!! (flyer below)
Calendar Update and Awards information:
With so many other campus wide assemblies and presentations this month that we didn't want our Bears to miss, we have made the decision to cancel Bear Boogie on October 12th. We will have one BIG Bear Boogie is October 26th at 7:30!!! We can't wait to celebrate ALL of our hard work in the first nine weeks together as a campus family!!!
On October 26th during CAMP times, we will be celebrating each grade level for a FABULOUS start to the school and ALL that they have accomplished!! We are inviting all of our Birmingham families and friends to join us for these celebrations!! CAMP times are listed below.
Speaking of our grade level celebrations, we will be individually recognizing students who have channeled their grit to level up this nine weeks. What do we mean by level up? Well, these are students that may not have the highest grades in the class, BUT they are always working to be their personal best each day in everything they do!
Teachers will also be individually recognizing their Wylie Way student of the nine weeks. This first nine weeks will be students who have exemplified the core values of respect and responsibility.
We can't wait to celebrate with YOU!!!!

A Message from our Assistant Principal.......
We are so proud of how hard our students are working on being on time to class everyday. We are giving away LOTS of tickets! Keep working on getting to school and in your classroom everyday by 7:30.
As we are in and out of classrooms, we are seeing students showing their grit. Our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders have taken their first (or maybe second) unit assessments over the past several weeks. I can't wait to hear the bells ring! Make sure to ask your Bear how they did!
Have a great long weekend! See you on Tuesday!
Have a great weekend!
BEARy best wishes...

A Message from Nurse Abby.....
Happy Friday!
Nurse tip: I wash my hands every time I interact with a child. On a busy day, that could be 25 times! Hand washing is the best prevention of passing germs to others, and keeping yourself well. How many times a day do you wash your hands?
Please remember to get your flu shots.
Stay Healthy,
Nurse Abby
