Some really cool kids were celebrated at this week's WBE PTA meeting! These kiddos were recognized by their teachers for their character and hard work. Receiving the Principal's Star Award were: Sophia Kidd, Declan Lanning, Aliza Shah, Emery Dillard, Lena Kangnavong, Emmanuel Mbi, and Sadie Barberee.

PTA Appreciation!

HUGE SHOUT OUT to the A-M-A-Z-I-N-G WBE PTA for supporting our students, teachers, and instructional programs! Funds raised through PTA this school year (from APEX fundraiser, spirit nights, Box Tops, holiday store, festival, etc.) will be purchasing a WHOLE BUNCH of awesome things that will directly benefit our students: COMPUTERS, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT RESOURCES, LIBRARY BOOKS, INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES, POSTER MAKER AND LAMINATION SUPPLIES, BULLETIN BOARDS AND SUPPLIES FOR BEAUTIFICATION OF COMMON AREAS. We are so very blessed! THANK YOU!

STAAR Testing 5/14 & 5/15

Our awesome 3rd and 4th grade students will be tackling the Reading and Math STAAR test on Monday, 5/14 and Tuesday, 5/15. WBE campus will be closed to visitors (including lunch) on these days. Thank you for your understanding and cheer on our students!

Proof of Residency for 2018/19

MISD requires that all students present a proof of residency (POR) document to the school each year. Willie Brown students are required to provide a current POR before receiving their class assignment in August.

WHAT is a POR document? A GAS, WATER, or ELECTRICITY bill for the address of residency with a SERVICE DATE of MAY 2018 or later.

WHEN can a POR be given to the campus? WBE will accept POR's NOW through August. Please ensure that the service date is May or later and write the name of your student(s) and 18/19 grade level(s) on the document. If your child will be attending a school other than WBE next year, you will need to take the POR to that campus.

It is SO IMPORTANT for your kiddos to READ over the summer months. The City of Mansfield public library offers a great summer reading program AND is a source of hundreds of books! Another great resource that will remain available to all of our students over the summer is RAZ Plus. Your student's current login and password remains the same for summer access. Please communicate with your child's teacher if you need their login information. A-Z Mobile App

MISD Student Dress Code Revisions

This spring, MISD formed a committee of teachers, administrators, and students to revise the student dress code. The attached dress code has been revised and will be included in the 2018-2019 Student Handbook. I'm hoping this is helpful information for parents to have when back to school shopping!
